Spurs suffered a massive setback to their Champions League hopes when Hugo Lloris was sent off during the 2-2 draw with PSV. But at least Tottenham didn’t put Harry Kane between the posts!
When Lloris got sent off in another European tie – against Asteras Tripoli in 2014 – Kane put on the gloves after scoring a hat-trick and promptly let a soft one in though his hands.
Kane was left red-faced after making a complete hash of dealing with Jeronimo Barrales’ free-kick, letting the effort go under his body as the Greeks grabbed a late consolation.
But at least they still won 5-1. What Spurs would have given for that result in this year’s trouble-prone Champions League campaign.
