Mbappe Discusses Possible MLS Future After Beckham Talks

A distant possibility, not a Madrid exit

Mbappe remains focused on France’s 2026 World Cup campaign, where he is aiming to add another major international triumph to his career and defend the Golden Boot he won at the previous tournament.

His club priorities are equally straightforward. The Real Madrid forward is under contract until 2029, leaving no obvious reason to treat Beckham’s approach as anything more than long-range recruitment.

Mbappe reinforced the appeal of the league, adding: “The American culture is different, there are no limits to ambitions, I like it.”

Beckham knows how to sell MLS

The interest carries weight because Beckham understands the journey from European superstardom to the American game better than most.

His move to LA Galaxy in 2007 helped make MLS a serious destination for globally recognised players. His later involvement in bringing Lionel Messi to Inter Miami CF in 2023 pushed that strategy to another level.

Messi’s arrival changed the perception of MLS. The league is no longer viewed only as a final stop for established stars; it can also present a fresh challenge, a new market and a different cultural experience.

Mbappe’s immediate focus remains France

For now, however, there is no suggestion that Mbappe is preparing to leave Madrid. His comments sounded more like an acknowledgement of Beckham’s repeated conversations than a declaration of intent.

That distinction matters. At 27, Mbappe remains central to Real Madrid and France, with the biggest prizes still ahead of him in Europe and on the international stage.

The next storyline to watch is therefore not a transfer announcement, but whether Beckham continues the courtship-and whether Mbappe’s interest grows once his Madrid and France ambitions have been pursued.
