Brann struck first in the seventh minute when De Roeve finished from Soltvedt's assist, giving the visitors an early foothold. Molde's frustration showed as the half wore on, with Samukele Kabini booked in the 19th minute before Vebjorn Hoff was forced off for Daniel Daga in the 34th.
The score moved further Brann's way less than a minute later. Eriksen converted in the 35th minute from Ulrik Mathisen's assist to make it 2-0, and Molde went into the break with another booking after Mathias Fjortoft Lovik saw yellow at 45 minutes.
Molde reshaped things quickly after halftime, sending on Seydina Mohamed Diop and Birk Risa within the opening moments of the second half. Eriksen was then cautioned in the 54th minute, and Brann used a string of substitutions after the hour as Jakob Lungi Sorensen, Vetle Dragsnes, Niklas Castro and Saevar Atli Magnusson were all introduced.
The home side finally found a way back in the 88th minute when Diop scored from Emil Breivik's assist, but the late rally came too late. The result, score, stats and overall summary all came back to Brann's clinical first half.
