The report says Naperville North went unbeaten on the way to last season’s state title, finishing 25-0-4 and claiming a fourth championship in 10 years. The challenge now is obvious.
That shifts the question from talent depth to program depth. North’s edge is familiarity with winning expectations. Even with heavy turnover, teams that know how to manage big moments often stay relevant deep into October.
If there is a local side best placed to test North early, it may be Naperville Central. The report says Central went 16-3-1 last season and return seven players.
That profile matters. Central appear to have a stronger returning base than North, especially in defence, and that usually gives teams a higher early-season floor.
Benet Academy may be the most intriguing wildcard. The report says Benet return nine varsity players from an 11-5-3 campaign while moving into the Chicago Catholic League.
League adjustment is real, but experience travels.
The next storyline is simple: whether Naperville North can reload fast enough to stay on top, or whether Naperville Central or Benet Academy can turn returning experience into an early statement.
