The breakthrough arrived on 25 minutes when Nygren put Celtic ahead, and the home side built on it before the break. Duran made it 2-0 in the 37th minute, giving the hosts a firm grip on the contest by half-time. Those were the main first-half highlights, and LASK never found a reply after the restart.
The second half brought a flurry of changes before the decisive third goal. LASK sent on Alessandro Schoepf for Krystof Danek at 64 minutes, while Celtic introduced Reo Hatate for Mika Baur at 65. Just over a minute later, Duran struck again at 66 minutes, this time with Nygren supplying the assist, to put the result beyond doubt.
LASK then turned to Christoph Lang for Moses Usor in the 73rd minute, while Celtic rotated through Liam Scales, Sebastian Tounekti, Haissem Hassan and Anthony Ralston as they saw out the match. Jorgensen's late yellow card at 81 minutes summed up a frustrating night for the visitors. The final stats and score reflected Celtic's control throughout.
