The report says Oklahoma State are 1-1-1 through their first three matches and have scored three times in that stretch. That is not a crisis in August, but it does frame the challenge.
There is also pressure on the other end. The report says goalkeeper Logan Marks has played every minute and already been called into regular action. Against a side scoring freely, that workload could rise again.
Mississippi State have opened 3-0-0, with the report saying the Bulldogs have scored nine goals and conceded only once. On paper, that is the sharper profile.
The caveat is strength of schedule. Those wins have come against South Alabama, UAB and Southern Miss, so Oklahoma State should provide a different level of test.
For the Cowgirls, this is about more than one result. A composed display away from home would give real momentum before the Big 12 opener against TCU in September. For Mississippi State, it is a chance to show the early scoring burst is transferable against a power-conference opponent. Either way, Thursday’s match should tell us much more about where both teams really stand.
