The match was level at half-time after David Pierce put Holland Christian ahead and Hector Garcia quickly equalised for Holland. Holland had already threatened, hitting the post and forcing goalkeeper Phineas Granzetto into difficult saves.
Rund-Scott’s decisive finish midway through the second half changed the contest. The senior forward beat his defender with a double movement before finishing into the bottom corner, with Jovany Carrillo supplying the assist.
“He makes good runs and has the strength to finish them,” Holland coach Greg Ceithaml said of Rund-Scott. “Physically he is very strong and mentally he is more mature.”
The report says Holland’s pressure and energy grew after the interval. Pike Fletter added a third after an Andi Andres cross, before Carrillo completed the scoring following a pass from Asher Folkert.
That sequence reflected the difference in the second half: Holland kept attacking after taking control, while Holland Christian struggled to protect its shape.
Holland Christian coach Lito Wagenveld said his team had prepared carefully, including assigning a defensive midfielder to help contain one of Holland’s forwards. But he acknowledged that younger players lost track of their defensive responsibilities late on.
