Federov-Defalco was the standout figure in Easthampton’s first outing. His two goals gave the home side a platform in both halves and ensured Holyoke never fully recovered after falling behind.
The Eagles led 1-0 at half-time, then added two more goals after the break. Evan Davis also found the net, while Luc Tetreault contributed an assist as Easthampton turned a narrow advantage into a clear result.
That spread of involvement matters. Federov-Defalco provided the finishing, but Davis and Tetreault helped ensure the attack was not dependent on one player creating every opening.
Holyoke did find a route back into the contest through Isaiah Frazer, who scored in the second half after being set up by Nayan Tabin. The goal prevented a shutout, but it did not change the match’s direction.
Coady’s 10 saves were central to that outcome. Easthampton limited Holyoke’s chances for long periods, but the opportunities that did arrive demanded a reliable last line of defence. Coady delivered, allowing the Eagles to absorb pressure without surrendering their lead.
The balance between Federov-Defalco’s finishing and Coady’s resistance gave Easthampton control at both ends of the pitch.
Easthampton now move into their next fixture against Taconic on Monday afternoon with a 1-0 record and early momentum. Holyoke will look to respond against Southwick on Friday night, with Frazer’s attacking contribution offering a positive starting point after a difficult opening result.
