William Kenworthy Scores Five as St. Peter's Win 6-3

Kenworthy makes the difference

The update credits Kenworthy with a hat-trick before half-time and two further goals after the break. Freshman Josh Martinez reportedly added the other goal as St. Peter’s established a 4-1 lead.

The margin was shaped by a clear tactical choice. The report says the Eagles recognised Kenworthy’s physical advantage against Sea’s central defenders and repeatedly looked for him with direct crosses and second balls.

“From the start, we saw that Will had the advantage going up against their centre backs,” co-head coach Stephen Caifa said. “You can see he was just able to turn on them often, so it was just one of those things: if it's not broken, why fix it?”

A response under pressure

The compact home pitch demanded a different approach, and Caifa acknowledged that the Eagles had to adapt.

“We have to play differently because the field is a little bit smaller here, so at times it's not ideally how we like to play,” he said.

Rather than retreat after taking control, St. Peter’s reportedly continued attacking. That mentality pleased Caifa as much as the scoreline.

“It's easy to be impressed scoring six goals, but I was more impressed with their mentality,” he said. “When we went up by two or three, you could see it in them: they didn't want to let up.”

The next test

The result appears to have given St. Peter’s an early psychological lift against a familiar rival, while Sea will have to regroup quickly. The report says St. Peter’s are due to face Spellman next, with St. Joseph by-the-Sea scheduled to meet Mount St. Michael. Those fixtures will show whether Monday’s performance was a one-off burst-or the beginning of a genuine championship push.
