Wilmington College Contractor Accused in Voyeurism Case

Allegations under investigation

The report says the incident occurred inside the women’s locker room at the Scheve Athletic Center. A player reportedly alerted campus security after seeing someone near the ceiling, and officers later detained the contractor.

Police have reportedly filed 11 allegations, corresponding to the students who were said to be changing in the room. The report says investigators recovered a mobile phone as evidence, while the accused denied making images and provided a different account of why he was in the ceiling area.

Because the investigation is ongoing, the allegations have not been established in court.

College ends contractor relationship

Wilmington College has reportedly terminated its contract with the employer that placed the worker on campus. That response places safeguarding and trust at the centre of the institution’s handling of the case, particularly given the alleged involvement of a women’s sports team.

The college has also said it is making psychological support available to the students affected. For athletes, locker-room privacy is a basic part of feeling secure in training and competition environments, making the institutional response especially important.

Investigation continues

The report says detectives are reviewing evidence to determine whether further allegations will be filed. The accused was reportedly released after posting bail, with a court hearing scheduled for October 5.

The next stage will focus on the evidence gathered by police and the college’s wider safeguarding review. Wilmington’s handling of access, supervision and support for student-athletes will remain a key storyline as the legal process develops.
