The report says Bianchi set the tone with early saves and constant communication, helping Mount Greylock withstand pressure from the larger Division III school. The Mounties’ defence stayed compact, protecting its goal through the later stages and preserving a clean sheet.
“Last year, Pittsfield took away our senior night and the message tonight was to get it back, and I think we did just that,” Bianchi said.
That response reflects more than a single scoreline. Mount Greylock appeared organised, committed and willing to defend for one another in an emotionally charged away setting. Coach Chris Kapiloff reportedly welcomed the point after his team’s performance.
Pittsfield also reportedly kept a clean sheet, with goalkeeper Reese Cook-Dubin playing his part in a match where neither side found the breakthrough. The Senior Night occasion placed the Generals’ senior class in the spotlight, but the team could not turn its territorial pressure into a decisive goal.
“I wouldn't be able to win a single game without any one of my teammates,” Cook-Dubin said. “I'm excited to finish the season strong with them.”
Captain Ryan Stannard was also credited with helping limit Mount Greylock’s opportunities in dangerous areas. Coach Wanek pointed to the senior group as a foundation for Pittsfield’s season.
“They've put us in a really good spot,” Wanek said. “We're halfway through the year, still have a long season to go, but we know we're in a great spot because of those guys.”
The reported schedule has Mount Greylock hosting Easthampton, while Pittsfield is due to visit Monument Mountain. The next fixtures should reveal whether the hard-earned draw becomes a confidence boost for both teams.
