The reported bracket gives Penn an opening tie against Mishawaka, while Northridge is scheduled to meet Elkhart at Penn. If those results go as expected, the two established contenders would meet in the next round.
That creates immediate pressure in a section where three teams are reportedly carrying recent sectional-title ambitions. Penn’s long run gives it the clearest historical edge, but a knockout draw leaves little room for a slow start.
Concord and Goshen are listed in the other half of the section, with their winner advancing to the championship match.
Elsewhere in Class 3A, the report says Mishawaka Marian will move up after winning the Class 2A state championship last season. The ninth-ranked side reportedly has a first-round bye and will await the winner of LaPorte versus South Bend Adams.
The other opening fixture in that section is listed as Michigan City against South Bend Riley, with the winners of the two routes meeting for the title. Marian’s move changes the balance of the bracket and gives the sectional a clear transition storyline.
The Class 1A draw also brings together recent winners. The report says Bremen, last season’s state runner-up, begins against Elkhart Christian Academy at LaVille.
Hosts LaVille, also reported to be defending a sectional title, face Marquette Catholic. Trinity Academy and Westville occupy the remaining opening tie, with that winner progressing into Bremen’s side of the bracket.
The sectionals are reportedly scheduled for 5-10 October 2026, although match times remain unconfirmed. The Penn-Northridge pathway will be the draw’s headline if the bracket is ratified, while Marian’s move and LaVille’s defence offer two other storylines to follow.
