Zjada Baydass Targets 2027 World Cup Place with Palestine

A disrupted path

For Baydass, the injuries have cost valuable playing time at a crucial stage of her development. The first setback reportedly kept her out for a year, while the second arrived just as she was attempting to rebuild momentum.

That makes her continued contact with the national team significant. Rather than treating rehabilitation as a pause in her international career, Baydass appears to view it as part of a longer route back to the squad.

“I’m not stopping until we get to the World Cup,” she said. “Because that'll be history.”

Palestine’s qualifying hope

Baydass made the senior step during the 2024 West Asian Football Federation tournament in Saudi Arabia. Palestine beat Syria and Iraq before losing to Jordan, a sequence the report says kept the team’s World Cup hopes alive.

The results also gave Baydass a competitive introduction to senior international football. Her contribution is not only about individual recovery; it is tied to a national team trying to turn limited opportunities into progress.

More than a football target

Her connection to Palestine was shaped by family, travel and experience. Raised between the Seattle area and the United Arab Emirates, Baydass reportedly first reached the national setup through youth football before travelling to Ramallah in 2023.

She has also remained active in community football around Seattle, helping organise tournaments and coaching at an indoor facility. That work reinforces the wider role she sees for the sport: representation, visibility and connection.

The next national-team camp and competitive fixture will be the clearest markers of Baydass’s recovery. If she can return consistently, Palestine’s World Cup pursuit may gain both a midfielder and a powerful personal story.
