Porro’s attacking output makes him an obvious candidate for a Barcelona side seeking greater thrust from the right side of defence.
Those figures point to a full-back capable of contributing beyond defensive work. Barcelona could view his delivery, movement and familiarity with possession football as a natural fit, particularly if Koundé’s departure creates room for a more attack-minded option.
The interest in Porro is directly linked to Koundé’s future. The French defender has reportedly been associated with Bayern Munich and Chelsea, while Barcelona would be prepared to consider a sale if an offer of around £51 million arrives.
That valuation would not automatically fund a replacement. Barcelona would still need to balance the transfer fee, wages and registration requirements before turning interest in Porro into a formal approach. Until Koundé’s position becomes clearer, Porro is likely to remain a conditional target.
Tottenham’s position is strengthened by Porro’s contract, which runs until the summer of 2031. The Spanish full-back has already made 152 appearances for the club, registering 13 goals and 26 assists, and is considered an important part of its long-term plans.
The next storyline is Koundé’s market. If Barcelona receive a suitable offer, the Porro discussion could accelerate quickly; without one, Tottenham have little reason to open negotiations.
