Football nominees set the pace
The football contingent features five candidates, with several producing decisive results:
- Dylan Baldwin reportedly scored a hat-trick in Pembroke’s 4-0 win over Quincy.
- He added another goal in Pembroke’s 6-0 victory against Plymouth South.
- Liam Triplett reportedly hit a hat-trick as Quincy beat North Quincy 10-0.
- Cam Howell scored the only goal in Silver Lake’s 1-0 victory over Duxbury.
- The report says Jesse Rafferty kept two clean sheets, taking his season total to seven.
- Beckett Williams kept clean sheets in 1-0 wins over Plymouth North and Silver Lake.
Endurance and precision add variety
The cross-country nominees bring championship-level performances to the vote.
- Tristan Grant reportedly broke his home-course 5K record, winning in 19:35 for Canton.
- Canton defeated Foxboro 19-43 in that meet.
- Joe Mento reportedly won the three-mile race in 17:18 for Archbishop Williams.
- The Bishops reportedly swept Bishop Stang 17-41 and Bishop Fenwick 19-42.
Golf completes the field, with Benjamin Tosi reportedly finishing runner-up at the Bay State Conference championships with 73. Milton placed fourth in the team standings.
Previous voting offers a benchmark
The previous poll reportedly drew more than 6,800 votes for winner Ryan Poznauskis, who claimed 49% of ballots. Cole Herget-Harris finished second with more than 4,300 votes, or 31%.
The update says current voting is unlimited, although emailed votes will not count. The next storyline is whether a football scoring burst, a goalkeeper’s clean-sheet run or a championship performance can produce the decisive final surge before the ballot closes.
