Olivia Taylor's Extra-Time Goal Keeps Shorecrest Top

A rematch decided by fine margins

The contest was reportedly shaped by defensive discipline and a physical midfield battle. Edmonds-Woodway’s Abby Tracy shot over in the ninth minute, while Taylor hit the post for Shorecrest during the early exchanges.

Neither team found a breakthrough in normal time. The report says Paige Bosley later sent a Shorecrest chance wide, while goalkeeper Morgan Smith twice denied Taylor in first-half breakaways.

That pattern made the late winner especially significant: both defences had restricted clear openings, leaving one moment of quality to decide the match.

Taylor delivers under pressure

Taylor is reported to have been limited to 20 minutes across Shorecrest’s previous two matches because of a hamstring problem. Against Edmonds-Woodway, however, she was the Scots’ main attacking threat.

Her first late opening came from a free-kick that struck the wall shortly before full-time. After Shorecrest retained possession from a corner in extra time, Taylor reportedly found the lower-left corner to settle the contest.

The goal transformed a match in which Edmonds-Woodway had contained Shorecrest for long periods. It also underlined the value of having a proven attacking option available when the game enters its decisive phase.

The title race tightens

The report places Shorecrest at 11-1-2 overall and 7-1-2 in league play. Edmonds-Woodway is listed at 7-4-3 overall and 6-4-0 in the league, leaving the Warriors needing points to stay in contention with two regular-season matches remaining.

Shorecrest also reportedly adjusted after losing the first meeting, matching Edmonds-Woodway’s 4-3-3 shape and pressing more effectively after halftime.

With the title race approaching its final stage, Shorecrest’s next two league fixtures will show whether Taylor’s late intervention has secured momentum as well as a crucial result.
