Andy Milne Clarifies His House Is Still on the Market

A house still awaiting a buyer

Milne says the property was placed on the market after reports suggested he had already sold it to fund his World Cup adventure. The house had been rented out since his partner moved out 13 years ago, and Milne has described it as a pension pot.

He was surprised by the attention surrounding the story, particularly because the property sale is only one part of a much broader financial and personal plan. His priority remains reaching the tournament and following England wherever the schedule takes them.

Ten World Cups and counting

Milne’s travel record is remarkable. The 2026 World Cup will be his 10th, following nine previous tournaments - eight men’s competitions and one women’s event.

A member of the England Supporters Travel Club, he and his friends have arranged tickets for every possible England match. Their transport plans include planes, trains, hire cars and buses as they move between host cities.

The journey follows a lifetime in football. Milne took early retirement in 2022 after working as a biology teacher and spending 35 years coaching school football. He still plays in an adult league every Thursday and follows Manchester United, Northwich Victoria and his nephew’s side, Weston-super-Mare AFC.

Hope, habit and “Sophie the Trophy”

His tournament identity is completed by a replica World Cup trophy known as “Sophie the Trophy”, a familiar companion during television appearances.

Milne remains hopeful that England can finally make this their year, although experience has taught him to temper excitement with caution. He has also added author to his football life, with *That World Cup Guy* scheduled for release on 25 May 2026.

The next chapter will begin when England take the field. By then, Milne’s house may have a new owner - but his place in the stands appears secure.
