If anyone is still doubting Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson’s bravery after he was kicked in the head then think again.
The Brazilian posted a photo of his injuries on social media. He had been criticised on TV in the UK by player-turned-pundit Tony Gale for not being a “proper man”.
Gale suggested Ederson should have waved to the crowd as he was carried off the pitch – like Burnley goalkeeper Tom Heaton, who dislocated his shoulder against Crystal Palace the following day.
And critics on social media claimed the keeper milked the collision with Sadio Mane’s boot.
Mane subsequently got the boot with a red card and City went on to crush Liverpool 5-0.
But there was clearly one Blues player who was still feeling the pain despite the scoreline.
