Maybe it’s coming home after all…
Jordan Pickford pulled off three world class to help England keep a clean sheet against Sweden in a 2-0 quarter final victory in Russia.
The Everton keeper, 24, who only became his country’s number one this summer, wasn’t even born the last time England made the semi-final in 1990.
In fact, 17 of the 23 players in the squad weren’t born in 1990 when England went out in Italy to Germany at the final hurdle.
Harry Maguire headed the first goal with a crushing header from a corner and Dele Alli headed in the second.
Although Sweden didn’t offer much in attack, they came at England after going two down and then it was up to Pickford to save the day.
“You got to be ready from the start, which I was. After making the first save, that was me set for the game,” the keeper said afterwards.
