United in Crisis: Mourinho at War With Pogba + League Cup Loss to Derby + Fans Unhappy at ‘Boring’ Style

Manchester United is a club in crisis after a penalties loss to Derby County pushed them out of the League Cup.

The PL side went out 8-7 on penalties after drawing the game 2-2 at Old Trafford.

The win for Frank Lampard’s young team came hours after reports emerged that Paul Pogba had been told by Mourinho that he will never captain the side again after his remarks after the weekend’s game that United were not attacking enough.

The ongoing feud with the French international comes with Mourinho under increasing pressure to both get results and play the entertaining football the fans had become used to with Sir Alex Ferguson.

Mourinho will argue that he didn’t get the backing from the board in the summer transfer market, but Alexis Sanchez, the team’s latest big money acquisition, is becoming an increasingly ineffective player at Old Trafford.

Here’s Lampard’s press conference after the game..
